WHO WE ARE

We are a family of people from different backgrounds who are united in our trust in Jesus, our God and Saviour.

We exist to bring glory to God in everything we do and in everything we are. In particular, we desire to:

  • Know Christ. We want everyone to know about Jesus, and his amazing love for them.

  • Grow in Christ. We desire to grow in our relationship with the God of eternity through his word. To know, love and serve him more and more every day.

  • Share Christ. We desire to share the glorious news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible, so they can share in the joy and hope we have in Jesus.

  • And to do this in loving, sacrificial community.

 WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

We believe:

  • The existence of one God in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30-33, John 20:28; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

  • The Bible is the written word of God. It is divinely inspired and inerrant throughout. Its assertions are factually true in all the original autographs. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The final guide to the interpretation of Scripture is Scripture itself. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

  • The full Deity and Incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (John 10:30-33; 1 Timothy 3:16)

  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering humanity subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. As well as the personality and malignancy of the Devil. (Mark 1:13; 1 Peter 5:8; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; Jeremiah 17:9; Ephesians 2:1-3)

  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death (as our representative and substitute) of Jesus Christ. The virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His perfect obedience, His shed blood, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His unchanging priesthood. (Colossians 1:14-20; Romans 4:25; Acts 4:10-12; Luke 1:27, 2:6-7: John 19:18; Acts 2:22-24, 36; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8)

  • The Deity of the Holy Spirit and the necessity of His work in the regeneration of men, and in their sanctification. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; John 3:5-8; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14)

  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ. (2 Chronicles 7:14; John 16:8-11; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9-11, 14-16)

  • The resurrection of the dead and the final judgement of all mankind by the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:24-30; 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:11-15)

  • The visible bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the eternal blessedness of the redeemed. (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:1-5)

  • The Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; Baptism being the immersion of believers upon their profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of their fellowship in His death, burial and resurrection; the Lord’s Supper being a memorial until He comes, of the sacrifice of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 6:1-14; Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
